The Associate Director manages the student policies, advising and services for all students enrolled in Stayer Center for Executive Education’s degree programs. Supervision of personnel and direction of procedures and processes for student experience includes management of the Assistant Directors, Program Facilitators as well as Temporary On Call personnel responsibilities that are associated with student services. This position contributes to employees’ professional development and leads the team to accomplish department goals. The Associate Director will oversee academic integrity and operational excellence, while benchmarking to develop consistent execution and expectation management with working professional students. Coordination and indirect supervision of all areas of operations including student work load issues, special event management, orientation and graduation logistics is also required. Exit surveys, program senior leadership and faculty will serve as inputs for innovation and strategy direction. The Associate Director will also serve as an adviser to the admissions process.
The Associate Director manages the extracurricular student engagement from matriculation through graduation as well as alumni outreach. The Associate Director helps prepare the students for the demands of the MSF, MSBA and Executive MBA programs and sets their expectations as students at Notre Dame working in conjunction with Sr. Associate Director Admissions and Recruiting. May be called upon to interview candidates and make recommendations for admissions files.
The Associate Director oversees and provides the delivery of student services to all students enrolled in the Executive Education degree programs. Currently Executive Education has four degree programs, i.e. Exec MBA in South Bend and Chicago, and MSBA and MSF in Chicago. The Associate Director introduces the students to Notre Dame and the policies affecting them as students. The Associate Director reviews these policies, makes recommendations for revision, and properly addresses violations of these policies. The Associate Director oversees and executes policy and student management including determining approaches with students in grade challenges, scheduling and faculty engagement. This includes project management of student policy manuals.
The Associate Director oversees and ensures alignment of all communications for Executive Education degree students from matriculation to graduation. This includes online platforms, personal outreach and documentation to create a unique ND experience.
The Associate Director develops and maintains relations with key executives within corporations in order to 1) identify their employees who are potential applicants for our degree programs; 2) identify possible placement opportunities for our graduates; and 3) provide ongoing support for Mendoza faculty and staff who are actively involved in relationships with these firms.
The Associate Director works with Executive Education senior leadership to manage student enrollments and needs while remaining in compliance with University Registrar, Student Affairs and Student Accounts.
The Associate Director assists the marketing and admissions team with social media and website stories and profiles.
The Associate Director gathers data from student, faculty and staff and reviews with Director of Degree Programs to modify or enhance existing program components making recommendations on course changes, logistical requirements and budget expenditures.
Periodic weekly travel to Chicago is required for this position.
Department Hiring Pay Range $43,790-$70,000
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (4 years)
5 to 6 years of related experience
Proven ability to lead in a collaborative team environment; proven ability and skill to successfully manage student demands alongside department and university requirements. Ability to effectively communicate (oral and written) to executive students. Strong presentation skills to conduct introductions, announcements, conversations and negotiations with senior leadership and executive students.
