Under the supervision of the Director of Youth Ministry, make decisions about the direction of the high school youth ministry program as a whole. This includes retreats, youth nights, and all other high school ministry events throughout the year.
High School Youth Programs
Alongside staff, adult volunteers and teens, coordinate all ministry programming surrounding high school youth and their families utilizing the gifts and talents of individuals in the community so that ministry programming is aligned with the purpose and mission of St. Gabriel and meets the standards for youth ministry and formation set forth by the Diocese of Dallas.
Ministry with Youth & Families
Through intentional relational ministry with youth, families and adult volunteers, foster a youth culture of discipleship within the parish that moves each member toward deeper relationship with Jesus which is reflected in their involvement in the life of the Church and service in the larger community.
Assist Director of Youth Ministry
Assist Director of Youth Ministry in the wide variety of parish/youth activities throughout the year while co-coordinating the recruitment, training, supporting, and evaluating of volunteers in the youth ministry program.
Assist Youth Ministry Staff in team roles
Support youth ministry staff in marketing efforts through various tools (including website, social media, flyers and mailings), in creating yearly budget, in yearly registration and orientation efforts and in maintaining & creating databases.

Required Qualifications
College degree or post-secondary courses
Active in the Roman Catholic faith community and knowledgeable about Catholicism
Be full of the joy of the Lord, energetic, self-directed, and creative
Possess the skills, abilities and experience to develop a ministry that meets the diverse
needs of the parish youth and their families
Comfortable to be an up-front leader in a group of adults and youth
PC skills (file management, database management, word processing, website
maintenance, graphics & publications)
Ability to set priorities and organize work effectively and efficiently
Ability to work as a team player with staff, volunteers, and diocese personnel
Ability to honor and maintain confidentiality
Ability to communicate effectively with youth and adults through verbal and written
means
Flexible work schedule including nights and weekends
Preferred
Possess musical skills with the ability to lead praise and worship music
Working Environment
While this position mostly takes place during regular parish business hours, it requires frequent evenings and/or weekend work and offers flexibility and compensatory time. The working environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential
functions of this job. The noise level is usually quiet to moderately loud.
Performance Reviews
Completed on semi-annual basis by Coordinator of Youth Ministry with input from Pastor, Worship Director, and committee leaders and members who are directly serviced by this position.
