Job Description

The Marketing Communications Manager is a pivotal role in positioning Catholic Charities West Michigan as a quality provider of family services and an organization worthy of support. The position is responsible to develop and execute the annual marketing communications plan from ideation to execution and mobilize influencers both internally and externally to engage with and support the agency.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and manage marketing communication program from concept to valuation with outcomes designed to create favorable change and forward thinking.
• Ensure uniform messaging for all marketing and communications platforms to align with CCWM brand consistency.
• Work to recognize internal and external communications opportunities and define strategies to leverage with positive outcomes.
• Provide guidance to subject matter experts on marketing communications strategies.
• Serve as liaison to agency association relationships.
• Develop and coordinate production of collateral needed to market agency services, philanthropy appeals, community engagement events and stakeholder reports.
• Implement and manage social media programs and social PR outreach.
• Experiment with new ways to engage constituents both on and off line.
• Write content for social media, website, whitepapers, presentations, videos, email blasts, direct mail.
• Coordinate participation in community engagement opportunities to include but not limited to association and trade shows.
• Identify and plan engagement opportunities/events that establish CCWM as thoughtful leaders.
• Create stakeholder reports.
• Manage all communication lists.
• Produce staff and agency newsletters, financial impact reports and others as needed.
• Manage relationships with outside vendors and agencies.
• Measure the impact of marketing communications annual plan, appeals and other measurable vehicles.

Education

This position requires knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired through a Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) in Marketing, Communications (or a related field) from a four‑year college or university.

Experience

• Minimum three years of relevant marketing, communications, branding experience ideally within the non-profit and/or social services arena.
• Proven experience in managing marketing programs from ideation to execution to valuation.
• Proven experience in working with outside professional counsel/vendors.
• Experience with social media management and campaigns (Pintrest, facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Linked In, etc).

• Knowledge of basic Marketing principles
• Knowledge of related social media and website platforms.
• Ability to maintain a high level detail and accuracy.
• Ability to lead and work with volunteers.
• Organizational and strong event planning skills.
• Adherence to professionalism and confidentiality.
• High level of energy, creativity and flexibility; driven to succeed.
• Polished leader with the ability to serve as a unifying force and to position marketing communications discussions at both the strategic and tactical levels.
• Excellent writing/editing and verbal communication skills.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently enjoys creating and implementing new initiatives.
• Sincere relationship builder with the flexibility and finesse to meet goals through collaboration both internally and externally.
• Must be proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint , Preze, Adobe, Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Must submit to and pass drug testing, standard criminal background checks and Central Registry.
• Must be able to work evenings and weekends as necessary.
• Must submit to Agency approved background checks.
