Carondelet, a Catholic girls’ college preparatory school founded in 1965 by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet seeks a Principal. A secondary school enrolling 800 students, Carondelet occupies a well-maintained and attractive campus in the city of Concord, a suburb east of Oakland, Berkeley and San Francisco. Across the street from Carondelet is its brother institution De La Salle. Their distinctive collaboration benefits both institutions,enhancing the programs and activities for the students.
The schools seeks a principal with a commitment to the education of young women and who wholeheartedly embraces the Mission and philosophy of the Sisters of St. Joseph, Carondelet. As the school’s instructional leader, the Principal reports to the President and will have the overall responsibility for the well-being and education of its students and for the support and oversight of the faculty and staff. In partnership with a visionary President, the Principal will lead the faculty in delivering an excellent educational program in a caring Catholic environment. The Principal provides leadership in the hiring, retention and ongoing professional development necessary to support a talented and dedicated faculty.
Ideally, candidates for this position should have familiarity with best practices in Catholic secondary schools; experience in a competitive school with high academic expectations, a commitment to girls’ education, and the skills to manage change as part of a supportive team.
