The Board of Trustees is made up of a committed group of priests, business, and community and education leaders. We are looking for an exceptional person who would relish the challenge and
joys of leading the largest Catholic elementary school in Greater Boston. We are seeking a Regional Director that wants to work in a dynamic inner-city and Catholic environment, because they realize that they can positively affect the lives of thousands of children.
Ideally the Regional Director has some experience as a catholic educator and is a practicing Catholic, who embodies and advances our most important mission and who can provide strategic vision,
leadership, and oversight to ensure we meet our Academy’s objectives.The Regional Director must be comfortable working closely with a 15 person Board of Trustees, the Superintendent of Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of Boston, and with local parish priests to achieve the Academy’s objectives. She/He will also be able to work closely with the Principals to address opportunities or issues at the school level.
Our ideal candidate would have a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree and relevant experience in managing school environments at either the Principal/Headmaster level.

Saint John Paul II Catholic Academy is a four campus elementary schools serving students in the inner city of Boston and promoting a Catholic education centered on academic excellence. Our goal is to
help our students prepare for their futures, as young Christian men and women.
With 1,200 children located in school buildings across four campus sites, we are the largest, accredited Catholic, Pre-K through 8th grade school, in the Northeast. Approximately 30% of the students test-out and go onto a Boston exam school at the end of sixth grade and 99% of our eighth graders are accepted to the high-school of their choice when they graduate.
We are blessed with a fine group of principals, teachers and students, working closely with the parents who hail from Boston, Haiti, Vietnam, Capo Verde and many other countries.
This caring, teaching environment was made possible through the vision of Cardinal Sean O’Malley and the dedicated efforts of business leaders in Boston. The Campaign for Catholic Schools has raised over $65M to enable the renovation of the four schools and to equip these schools with the latest technologies for teaching and learning.
The school campuses are located in Dorchester and Mattapan and are managed by Principals, with the Regional Director of the Academy overseeing and leading their efforts. The Regional Director reports to the Board of Trustees and is ultimately responsible for ensuring that the key objectives of the
Academy are met. These objectives include providing leadership for the faculty and staff, achieving academic excellence targets, developing effective curriculum, growing the development program and student enrollment, and assuring the proper financial management of the Academy.
It is an unique and highly visible job within Greater Boston’s Catholic schools, as well as in Boston’s elementary educational community as a whole.
